Lately in Indonesia, there are many bomb terrors in Indonesia. The terror starts in Tuesday(15/March/2011), a packet was sent to Ulil Absar the chief of an islamic organization. The packet wasn't sent through the post, but by a courier. The package contains a book entitled: "Mereka Harus Dibunuh" which in english, "They Must be Killed". After receive the package, Ulil found a wire sticking out of the book. Sensing danger, he called the police. The police came, and they flush the book with water. Then a short electricity reaction done.

Curious with the reaction, a policemen opens the book. Unexpectedly, the trigger of the bomb is on the cover. When the book opened, the bomb exploded. The policemen lost his left palm in this accident.

Today, Indonesia still in panic. Every packet received, exploded by the bomb squad in case of next terror case. But after tons of suspicious packet destroyed, they're not the bomb. Maybe these packets have metals, batteries, or maybe gunpowder inside, but not any of these packets really explode even though you open the package, waiting 'till your grandpa dead, or maybe throw it to your dog.

The paranoia is very panicking and effective in this country. Because, this country is very paranoid of bomb. What a pain, don't ever help Japan if you can't help yourself!

Google Aids Earthquake Victims in Japan

Japan person finder, Google

Google aids people in Japan after earthquake. This aid is in a form of tool to help victims' family to find their family there. This tool collect information on which people is gone and about someone's whereabouts. It is designed to be embedded on websites and social network pages to reach as wide an audience as possible.

In its first few hours, the Japan quake Person Finder had logged more than 4,000 records.

The extent of the damage caused by the Japanese earthquake is not yet known but its magnitude and the widespread devastation wrought by the subsequent tsunami is likely to see tens of thousands displaced.
The Person Finder was developed to solve a problem common in the aftermath of many catastrophes when many different agencies are on the ground giving aid and gathering information about victims.

Before the advent of tools such as Person Finder it was much harder to compare the information gathered by separate agencies and help to re-unite families and friends.
Underlying the site is a common format for describing people who are lost or who want to announce they are safe by whatever means they can.In the wake of disasters, many volunteers in other countries often scrape sites for this formatted information and add it to the People Finder database.

Others take information from blogs, texts and tweets and convert it to the format so it can be put in the database. The system was first used following the Haiti earthquake that struck in January 2010. That first tool was based around work done in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina that hit New Orleans. Google saves us! hahaha :D

Tsunami Hits North-East Side of Japan

A huge earthquake of 8,9 Ritcher - magnitude tremor, which struck about 400km (250 miles) north-east of Tokyo. A Nuclear plant there, exceed a high pressure level and declared as a state of emergency. There are two plants which exploded. About 350 people dead, and 500 missing people reported. In one ward alone in Sendai, a port city in Miyagi prefecture, 200 to 300 bodies were found.

The quake was the fifth-largest in the world since 1900 and nearly 8,000 times stronger than the one which devastated Christchurch, New Zealand, last month, said scientists. Thousands of people living near the Fukushima nuclear power plant have been ordered to evacuate.

Japanese nuclear officials said pressure inside a boiling water reactor at the plant was running much higher than normal after the cooling system failed. Officials said they might need to deliberately release some radioactive steam to relieve pressure, but that there would be no health risk. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had earlier said the US Air Force had flown emergency coolant to the site.

But US officials later said no coolant had been handed over because the Japanese had decided to handle the situation themselves. The UN's nuclear agency said four nuclear power plants had shut down safely. Measured at 8.9 by the US Geological Survey, it struck at 1446 local time (0546 GMT) at a depth of about 24km.

The tsunami rolled across the Pacific at 800km/h (500mph) - as fast as a jetliner - before hitting Hawaii and the US West Coast, but there were no reports of major damage from those regions. Thousands of people were ordered to evacuate coastal areas in the states of California, Oregon and Washington. The biggest waves of more than 6-7ft (about 2m) were recorded near California's Crescent City, said the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre.

A tsunami warning extended across the Pacific to North and South America, where many other coastal regions were evacuated, but the alert was later lifted in most parts, including the Philippines, Australia and China. Strong waves hit Japan's Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures, damaging dozens of coastal communities.
A 10m wave struck Sendai, deluging farmland and sweeping cars across the airport's runway. Fires broke out in the center of the city. Eventually, the damage was only a little in pacific islands.

I hope Japan can recover from this massive disaster. At least I still write this post which means my country is okay.
